FESTIVAL FETE Diwali, which marks the start of New Year according to the Hindu Calendar is always a much awaited fete. This is one time when people meet each other and one tries to look their best. So, I have created 3 outfit ideas one may try this Diwali. The last one is my personal favorite though. Also, few essential tips so your Diwali outfit is different and not too much at the same time at the end! LOOK 1: This look is more like color play and not too much color. Here I have used a basic shrug and transformed it into a crop top, the palazzo is from Barmer and dupatta from Chauki Dhani. For accessorizing I have just opted for my DIY earings and basic black heels to just balance that black out! LOOK 2: For this look I have altered the dupatta (also from Chauki Dhani) and took two skirts (one from Chauki Dhani and pink one from Pehr's closet) I adore a lot with Kholapuri Chappal's and spiral earings from Surajkund Mela.
ESSENCE OF A CRAFT May of 2017 I got a chance to visit Barmer, a city in Rajasthan. It was part of our cluster study. We worked with artisans and learned few embroideries in roots of Barmer. We went to these villages Chautan and Derasar placed far away from the city area. The embroideries we learnt there were Applique, Patchwork, Moti Bharat and Kharak. 📸 Akansha Sharma I loved Moti Bharat and I decided to make my product using the embroidery. I wanted my product which was a garment to stand out and yet give the feel of the place. Therefore, I ended up deciding to mix male and female traditional garments of the locals there and create my product with a twist of recent trends like ruffles and one shoulder. The blouse of the garment opens up when you swirl just like the male traditional Rajasthani kurti. I created that effect with ruffles. And a pinch of twist using one shoulder in the blouse. The blouse has mirror work on the edges of ruffle. Whereas th
